Communication & Leadership Workshops

Our Communication & Leadership Workshops are interactive, construction-specific sessions designed to help professionals navigate the people side of construction more effectively. Every workshop is custom-built based on organizational goals, team dynamics, and capacity, allowing the focus to shift between communication, leadership, or a combination of both depending on what will create the greatest impact.

Built from years of working in and alongside the construction industry, these workshops translate leadership and communication concepts into practical, tactical tools that make sense in real construction environments—where pressure, timelines, and coordination matter.


Common focus areas include giving and receiving feedback, planning for difficult high-stakes conversations, leaning into challenging discussions, effective delegation, leadership mindset, and understanding the difference between management and leadership. Participants also explore how stress, time pressure, and team dynamics influence communication, decision-making, and performance on projects and jobsites.


Workshops typically range from 90 minutes to multi-session programs up to 10 hours, depending on depth and team capacity. To maximize learning transfer and return on investment, workshops longer than four hours are intentionally split across multiple days. Sessions are highly interactive and adjusted in real time based on participant needs.


Workshops can be delivered in person (travel available), virtually, or in a hybrid format, based on organizational preferences and logistics.


These workshops are designed for construction professionals at any level who are responsible for people, performance, or coordination and want practical tools that actually work in construction.

Amy Powell

Amy Powell, Well Works' current founder and CEO, has developed and implemented essential construction "people" skills programs, workshops, training, coaching, and consulting for those working in and with the industry. With over two decades of experience working in construction, this Project Manager turned Director of Training recognized that the success of our projects relies not only on technical and management skills but even more so on our leadership skills. Tired of searching and waiting for applicable or accessible training, she rolled up her sleeves, collected her MEd in Adult Education, and developed products and services to support the most critical aspect of our industry: the people.
